WHAT I REALLY MEAN

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(But someone said she did.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(I really, really didn’t.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(Perhaps I gave a hint.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(But someone must have done it.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(I think she might have hidden it.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(But she did take someone else’s.)

I didn’t say she stole my money.
(I said she stole my glasses.)

Now that we have looked into intonation, let’s think about VOLUME.
